In 2007, Klein Genot proudly rolled out its maiden harvest of red varietals with just over 20 hectares of vineyards and the intention of creating young, modern wines. As of October 2008 the vintage will be produced in a new cellar that will be constructed on the estate, offering a restaurant and function facilities. |

BLACK SWAN RESERVE 2006 |
| |
50/50 Blend of Cabernet and Cabernet Franc |
| Colour: |
Deep, dark inky red with a red edge. |
| Nose: |
Powerful wooding reveals vanilla, spice and cedar box tones, along with a full complement of red and black
berry fruits. Featuring cassis and blackberry, the nose is still closed and will open with more time in the bottle. |
| Palate: |
The wine has been matured in new French oak for 12 months and then aged for one year in the bottle. The palate shows a well integrated mouth with the wood not overpowering the fruit or the fineness of the blend. The tannins are ripe and full yet this wine will still expand with time and become even more complexly layered. |

MERLOT 2006 |
| Colour: |
Deep, dark inky red with a slight purple edge. |
| Nose: |
This wine shows a fruity expression only found in Merlot from the new world. The plummy and strawberry fruit is rich, while the subtle wooding helps lengthen
the nose. |
| Palate: |
Smooth and gently rounded tannins are followed by a
mouth loaded with fruit. The palate is quite rounded with only 25% wooding in French oak. The flavour has
a lingering aftertaste with a long follow through of the
fruits, and well-balanced alcohol, tannin and acid. This
wine will need more time to develop to its full potential. |

SHIRAZ 2006 |
| Colour: |
Deep, dark inky red with a slight purple edge. |
| Nose: |
The typical French style of pepper and spice comes through strongly with a touch of the new world, red berry fruits and soft wood. |
| Palate: |
The palate is more medium-weight in style than most, but shows good balance and a unique elegance seldom found in new world Shiraz’s. The tannins are well balanced and the wine drinks very well with a harmonious combination of acid and alcohol. Sweet berry and cherry fruit flavours follow through, while the
25% wooding in new French oak adds to the complexity
of the palate. This wine will benefit from more time maturing in the bottle. |

CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2006 |
| Colour: |
Deep, dark inky red with a red edge. |
| Nose: |
Featuring an elegant nose with loads of red berry and
dark chocolate, the wine is also forward offering an exciting fruity freshness. |
| Palate: |
The palate is full and loaded with ripe chewy tannins.
The well integrated acid and alcohol is balanced with
the subtle 25% wooding from a small amount of barrelled wine. This wine needs more time in the bottle to reach its full potential. |
