Dearest Angie and Elanda
I am so sorry I have taken so long to write this e mail. It has been really rude of me to let time lapse by but I have been thinking of my time with you for most of this year.
My husband surprised me on the night of our wedding by taking me to Klein Genot for two nights. I had told him that I really wanted to have a romantic B & B experience for our first night. The idea of going to a big hotel seemed really impersonal and cold. I also gave him the following idea of what I thought would be special:
Intimate
Attentive staff
Unassuming and elegant
Cosy and romantic
Nothing brand new or over the top
Just like being at home
So with a bit of help from Mandy at wedding concepts he chose Klein Genot. I really can't tell you what was going through my mind the night we arrived. We arrived really late (2 pm) and there was a fantastic chap waiting for us. He was so chuffed to see was so happy about our wedding, he made us feel so welcome. On entering the room it was clear that you had all gone to so much trouble, there were tea lights in the beautiful bathroom and the bed was decorated with so much care. The petals and the two bears were so amazing. I still keep a picture on my phone of the bed to remind me of the feeling I experienced on the night. The bears are on our bed everyday and it serves as a great reminder of how in love we were on the night and how in love we are now.
In the morning, we were treated to a stunning breakfast, we could really choose anything on the menu, which is great because my husband is a real pain in the neck when it comes to food. He is really difficult and annoying and your chef and staff bent over backwards for him. He had a bacon sandwich on both occasions (typical Pom!) I was booked in for spa treatments and even Will went for a massage. It was so blissfully relaxing and it really made me relax after such an emotional climax of the wedding and preparations for the big day.
The most superb thing about the whole experience was that every member of staff was so happy to be working for Klein Genot, it felt like we had come to stay with one big family. The way we were treated was exceptional, we could walk into the kitchen and have a chat to the guys, the afternoon tea was tasty and the smell of the curried food in the late afternoon made me reminisce about South African afternoons and growing up. Your hospitality was so welcoming that it made me feel like I was on a homely vineyard. The relaxed nature of the Klein Genot staff made us fell as though we could really just relax and potter about the place. We were constantly pampered as we did! Everybody from the cooks, the cleaners, the guard, the wonderful swans (the male swan particularly made us laugh and still does when he kept on chasing Will) the ladies in the spa and Elanda were so professional but more importantly so attentive.
I really can't thank you enough for making our stay the most spectacular two nights I have ever had away from home. We will be coming over in the next year and have already said that we are going to spend time at Klein Genot again.
So thank you so very much for all your kindness, generosity and hospitality. You really have a gem of a place and it will always have a special place in my heart.
With lots of Love
William and Liz Vernell
